Resurrection

I chose a fresco piece called the Resurrection, by Piero Della Francesca. It is called “the most beautiful painting in the world.” I chose this piece because of the image’s representation of Christ. There is the halo on His head to show that Jesus is holy and righteous. There are the wounds on Jesus’s body to show that He died for us on the cross as a substitutionary atonement for our sins. I like how the artist made Jesus face the viewer while holding a flag that has a cross on it silently asking the viewer if they are willing to take up their cross and follow Him (Luke 9:24-25) or to reject Him entirely.
