This image was created by artist Luca Signorelli between 1480 and 1483. I chose this image because I really enjoy Christian art, and I've never seen a painting before where Christ was suffering and not on a cross. Therefore I was surprised to come across a scene such as this. I find this scene interesting just because Christ looks very relaxed in the middle of terrible suffering and I find Signorelli's bright color choice interesting because it contrasts with the dark nature of this painting.
