I chose this piece because I love drawings and portraits of the figure. I also really find Hopper's color choice interesting, the colors used in this piece are both warm and cool and complement each other very well. This piece is both somber yet calming, the light and shadows add a relaxed effect yet highlight what appears to be a deeper and darker mood.
