This is Jaanika Peerna's drawing titled Thaw Series 5. It was created in 2017. The dimensions are 53x36". The medium is graphite and colored pencil on 2 layers of plastic paper. I chose it because I like the colors and the movements. The movements are chaotic but graceful. There's a lot of swift movements in the beginning but it starts to fade into straight lines and gets calmer. I wonder why she titled the piece Thaw. Maybe she was trying to depict the melting of ice?
