This painting was created in 1970. I think most of her paintings are very odd. I chose this painting because I gasped the moment I saw it. It definitely makes a statement. The amount of detail she added on the sexual organs are impressive. I think this painting is meant to raise questions on gender and what it means to be a man or a woman. Personally, I wouldn’t hang this painting on my wall, regardless of what message is behind it. Overall, it’s a very strange painting that will grab anyone’s attention.
