I chose this specific drawing because I feel it is more tame than many others of Jenny Saville. I find her work to be rather grotesque and it makes me uncomfortable to be frank. I would never want to hang one of these up on my wall. I'm not denying her talent, but the general subject matter and the way in which she portrays it- using dark colors and greys/whites really is unsettling for me to view.
